“I will do my best,” Carl Starfelt fancies netting Cup Final goal for Celtic

Carl Starfelt has expressed his desire to score for Celtic in the Scottish League Cup Final against theRangers and replicate his former teammate’s goal in the League Cup final in back in December 2019, which was the only time these two clubs have ever met in a Cup final.

Celtic’s recent form has been outstanding. They have put away a staggering 16 goals just in the four games that have taken place this month. Furthermore, Celtic are not relying on the talents of one individual, instead, 18 players in the squad have already contributed to the scoring sheet this season. However, it is worth noting that the form of Kyogo has been incredible as well, as he has 22 goals so far this season. With this in mind, it is quickly understood that Starfelt wants to join in on the glory that Celtic squad are currently enjoying in the goalscoring tasks.

Speaking to Football Scotland, Starfelt makes a mention of Christopher Julien’s goal in the 2019/2020 Scottish League Cup Final against theRangers, as he is currently using that as his motivation to replicate his teammate’s actions in this year’s final.

When asked if he will be replicating Julien’s winning goal in the upcoming final, Starfelt responded…

“I will do my best – that would be nice!”

Starfelt went on to discuss Celtic’s current defensive strength. “We like to stop the teams high up the pitch if we can do it which is why you don’t see in some games too many clearances inside the box or too many dangerous situations because we are on the front foot and really defending in their half of the pitch.”

“Defensively it is the foundation of our game to work really hard and everyone works hard defensively so we can win the ball high up the pitch.”
