Truly Magnificent! Callum McGregor put in a true Celtic captain’s performance…
Calmac was a worthy man of the match yesterday. He was head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch and put in the performance of a true leader. I noted the other day that I reckoned the game could be won in midfield, and so it proved. Callum took control of the centre of the park from the first whistle and he was an inspiration to the rest of the side.

Matt O’Riley and Paulo Bernardo both played their part, with the Portuguese grabbing the all important opening goal, but Callum was the real driving force behind the victory. He was everywhere, he was fully committed , energetic and he never wasted a ball. He was a real calming influence. It was a superb all round performance by the captain.
Callum has been getting a bit of criticism of late, a little deserved but most not, but yesterday no one could have any complaints. He was the best player on the park and showed not only his class but his leadership qualities.
Take a bow Callum, you were absolutely magnificent.
One of Callum McGregor’s best performances in a Celtic shirt today.
Always available for the ball. Strong in the tackle. Excellent ball-carrying when required.
Led by example. A proper captain’s performance. pic.twitter.com/mNKRLJQJFT
