‘I’m very happy,’ says Shved as Lenny shoots down those Scotty Sinclair rumours

Maryan Shved came off the bench to score his first goal for Celtic and he seemed delighted, if a little nervous, speaking to Celtic TV in Tallinn this evening. “It’s my first goal for Celtic and I’m very happy,” he said. Listen to his interview and watch his goal below.

Meanwhile The Celtic Wiki noted on Twitter something rather amusing, probably because it’s so true!

“Shved makes Celtic history as the first new signing to actually score a goal like those on his You Tube compilation,” they observed.

Shved could have had a double after Lewis Morgan set him up beautifully moments after he came on but the keeper saved.

Meanwhile Neil Lennon has denied reports that Celtic want to sell Scotty Sinclair. The Englishman has struggled for confidence and game-time over the past year and last week was linked with a move to Preston. But the Celtic manager told the BBC that the rumours are wrong saying “we don’t want him to go”, saying that Sinclair was just going through a “little difficult period”, the Celtic manager said.

“A player with that experience is always so handy to have around,” said the manager after the 2-0 Champions League win over Nomme Kalju in Estonia.

“He’s got a great goal record and he’s had a great time at Celtic. So we don’t want him to go. That’s for sure.”

There’s certainly plenty fo comments about Scotty Sinclair’s lack of confidence and form on social media and perhaps this is getting to him?

Yet it was almost him who grabbed a second goal for Celtic this evening curling a wonderful effort towards the top corner only to be denied by the save of the game.
