Reported Celtic summer target Daniel Podence looks set to join Greek side Olympiacos on a season-long loan deal. The 27-year-old was considered by Celtic earlier this summer but the Scottish Champions decided not to pursue their interest given Wolves’ asking price.
Now, In The Know Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos has said that there is a purchase option of just €6m to make the deal permanent.

It appears that Wolves’ stance has softened drastically as they rightfully fear losing the player for nothing. Even a small fee for the player will go in their favour given the FFP implications currently going against them. Whilst Celtic will line up in the Champions League, Podence will likely be plying his trade in the Europa League with his former club as he looks to kick start his career.
They are probably kicking themselves as they could have probably ended up getting a decent fee but bidders were put off by the £12m starting price coupled with his high wages. Celtic went away and signed Luis Palma instead, who boasted better numbers from his spell in Greece than Podence. There is also the age factor to take account of not to mention the fact that he commands a smaller wage than the former Premier League winner.
