Injury blow – Celtic Star set to be out for six weeks

JAMES FORREST looks set for six weeks out injured. With the transfer window slamming shut yesterday, this news will come as a blow to the Scottish Champions as he looks set to be out until November according to the Scottish Sun. Forrest was forced from the pitch in Riga with a knock and the report says that he suffered a minor stress fracture on his ankle.

Neil Lennon had to inform Steve Clarke that the player was going to be out injured beyond the Scotland matches versus Israel, Czech Republic and Slovakia. This means that Forrest is OUT of the match versus Rangers on October 17. Now, it looks like he will be out for at least six weeks as he recovers.

This is worrying news as Forrest is the only attacking option on the right hand side – meaning should Celtic like to deploy Frimpong on the right in an advanced role, or bring Christie across, Neil Lennon will be hoping that Mikey Johnston can get himself fit to compete for a place in the starting XI.

The transfer window slammed shut yesterday after Celtic completed the signing of Diego Laxalt, concluding what was a brilliant transfer window for Neil Lennon’s side.
