Injury boost for Celtic as duo get game time in bounce match

Celtic have received a double injury boost ahead of next weekend’s game against Rangers next weekend in the Glasgow Derby. James Forrest and Nir Bitton played as Celtic beat Kilmarnock 5-0 in a bounce game at Lennoxtown.

Bitton has been injured since the defeat to St Mirren in January; however, the defender completed 90 mins as he and Forrest look to play a part in the game next Sunday.

The right-winger has been an integral part of the sides in the last nine years but was forced to go under the knife owing to an ankle knock at the start of the season. Celtic have missed Forrest and his return will be like a new signing for the team, even if there is only really the Scottish Cup to play for.

John Kennedy shuffled the pack and got some game time for the fringes of the first team as they look to restore some pride with a win next weekend. The season has been a poor one but they can win the fans over with a spirited, committed win against Steven Gerrard’s side.
