‘It gave the girls a fright,’ Rodgers on the late night Break-in drama at their Bearsden Home

FORMER Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about the terrible situation that emerged at his family home in Bearsden when burglars entered the house, terrifying his wife and stepdaughter who locked themselves in a bathroom.

The 2am robbery on Wednesday has been widely reported nationally with some media reports in Scotland at least scandalously suggesting that Celtic supporters were responsible.

Wearing balaclavas to conceal their identity the morons apparently shone their torches on Charlotte and young Lola who fled to a bathroom and called for help.

The new Leicester City manager, clearly rattled by the intrusion into his family home, had his say on the robbery today, at his new club’s press conference.

“It’s obviously something that’s not nice for any family to go through of course,” he said.

“It gave the girls a fright. I think the only thing I want to say on this is that the last 10 days has been a lot about my move to here.

“With the events of the last couple of days, I don’t want to detract from, you know, we had an amazing time as a family in Scotland, Glasgow in particular.

“The people there were amazing. The experiences we had on and off the field will live with us.

“We’re not going to let like something like this here, or some of the reaction from the last 10 days, cloud any of that.

“We’ve dealt with it. There’s great support out there for us.

“They’re both fine and safe, which is important.”

The former Celtic Manager confirmed that some of the medals he won at the club had been stolen.

“I’ll have to try and get some more,” he joked.

Hopefully these criminals are caught and dealt with by the courts and the Rodgers family can get their possessions back.
