Italian journalist Nicolò Schira has claimed that Celtic are targeting Manchester City’s U23 coach Enzo Maresca as their new manager. Celtic are looking for a permanent manager after Neil Lennon resigned last month and interim boss John Kennedy doesn’t seem to be interested in taking the job meaning incoming Chief Executive Dominic McKay will be tasked with appointing a new manager.
Now, the reporter claims that Maresca, a former West Ham Assistant Manager is Celtic’s first choice. Maresca is currently on the books of Manchester City’s U23s, working with the English super club. He won trophies with Juve as well as coaching with Sevilla and Ascoli. He is highly rated by Pep but may be looking to become a manager in his own right.
