“It’s good to be back on the pitch,” Callum McGregor’s ready for Pittodrie

Callum McGregor spoke to Celtic TV after the behind closed doors match against French side Rennes this afternoon. All the goals in the 4-3 defeat came in the first half with Matt O’Riley grabbing two and Kyogo the other with Ange Postecoglou starting with this eleven:

Joe Hart, Anthony Ralston, Carl Starfelt, Moritz Jenz, Greg Taylor, Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor, Liel Abada, Kyogo and Jota.

The Celtic captain is certainly thrilled to be back and to have got through an intense week’s training ahead of the return to action at Pittodrie on Saturday lunchtime. Calmac made it through today’s bounce match without any negative reaction and looks certain to be in the starting line-up next week.

Meanwhile three of Celtic’s World Cup stars – Cameron Carter-Vickers (United States), Aaron Mooy (Australia) and Daizen Maeda (Japan) will all return to Lennoxtown early next week and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Pittodrie.

Celtic return to action none points clear at the top of the league, looking down on theRangers.
