After his early days with Rangers Youth and Anniesland Waverley, Billy Stark went senior, joining St Mirren for 8 years (1975-83) and Aberdeen for four (1983-87), before arriving at Celtic Park on this day in 1987.
Over the following three seasons, Billy scored 25 goals in 84 appearances before moving on to Kilmarnock.
Andy McAtee was born on this day in 1888.
Players of that era are very often forgotten by the modern Celtic support but Andy was a star in the outside-right berth, his great pace allowing him to score an excellent 72 goals in his 439 appearances for the club between 1910 and 1924.
He was in the outside-right position in the four-in-a-row side of 1914 to 1917 and won Scottish Cup medals with Celtic in 1911, 1912, 1914 and 1923. He also served with the Royal Field Artillery in the Italian Alps during the First World War and after he was freed by Celtic in 1924, Andy travelled across the Atlantic to play for New Bedford FC in Massachusetts.
