Jim Craig: Borussia Dortmund sign 394 games, 81 goals Celtic star

After an early career with Douglas Academy in Milngavie, Partick Thistle Boys Club, Glasgow Amateurs and Dumbarton, Murdo MacLeod arrived at Celtic Park on 2 November 1978.

Just under 9 years later – after 394 appearances and 81 goals for Celtic – Murdo was transferred on this day in 1987 to Borussia Dortmund.

Lukasz Zaluska was born on this day in Poland in 1982. After a senior career in his native country with Legia Warsaw, Bialystok and Korona Kielce, the goalkeeper joined Dundee United for the 2007 to 2009 seasons, making 53 appearances.

Lukasz signed for Celtic on 1 June 2009 and made 28 appearances over the next six campaigns before moving on to SV Darmstadt in August 2015.
