Jose Mourinho approached by Celtic, according to journalist

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been approached by Celtic according to a sensational report from journalist Duncan Castles. Castles told the Transfer Window Podcast that Celtic approached Mourinho’s camp in the wake of his sacking from Tottenham this week.

The 58-year-old is awaiting a new challenge and he is considering his latest challenge as he insisted he is ready to get back into football. Castles claims that the deal he has with Tottenham means that his income is confirmed from the London club, meaning that the perceived price of ‘The Special One’ could be far more palatable.

Mourinho has won eight titles in four countries and given his high-profile departures from Chelsea, Manchester United and now Tottenham, he is unlikely to obtain another job in The Premier League unless he re-establishes his reputation with a spell in charge out of England.

Mourinho and Eddie Howe are allegedly clashing for the Wolves job, which means that Celtic could be involved in a managerial merry-go-round in the summer and they will need to act quickly. Howe is still the favourite for the Celtic job, but the trail has gone cold. Last we heard, Brendan Rodgers is reportedly talking to Howe about the prospect of becoming the next Celtic manager. Rodgers was an instrumental in the success of the last few years and it is a case of what could of been as he sits in the Top 4 with Leicester City. Meanwhile Celtic will look to rebuild under Dominic McKay, a new Director of Football and a new manager with the chance to knock Rangers off their newly found perch.

  1. No!!!!! Never Mourinho. I will never forgive him for putting out a team of cheats and divers in Seville. And then treating it as if it was normal behaviour.
