“I keep my fingers crossed for you,” Polish Paddy’s Speedy Title Wish for Celtic

Patryk Klimala just about delivered a perfect score for his classy signing off message which showed a real appreciation for his time wearing the Hoops and he even signed off with Sandman’s initial nickname for the striker – Polish Paddy.

The only criticism would be the use of the Union flag rather at the top. Were only ever a British club Paddy when we won the European Cup in Lisbon in May 1967.

Meanwhile reports today have stated that Celtic will receive their initial investment in the player – £3.5m from New York Red Bulls and with various add-ons included in the deal, this could rise to as much as £5m.

The 22-year-old striker joined Celtic from Jagiellonia in January 2020 for £3,5m and scored three goals in 28 appearances, all but five coming off the bench.

“As you probably already know, my time in Celtic is over,” Klimala posted on his social media channels, in both English and Polish. “The time I spent here, however short, was a gift from God to me. I would like to thank everyone who has given me the chance to be apart of this great club.

“I will never forget a warm welcome and the support the fans gave me during the year spent here. In Celtic I was lucky to meet really good players, coaches and people who mobilized me to work harder every day.

“The progress I have made here allows me to be optimistic about the future. Now it’s time for the United States, I’m pretty excited about it. Thank you for all the message and calls. Hope Celtic gets the title back as soon as possible.
