Josip Juranovic happy to fulfil his penalty duties

Josip Juranovic came in just when Celtic needed him at the end of the transfer window. With the club in need of a penalty taker, and a defender to initially offer competition for the full-back spots, you could perhaps suggest Greg Taylor’s injury happened at a more favourable time than had Juranovic not been linked.

He’s slotted in very well to the left-hand flank amidst the injury afforded to Taylor and the Bolingoli controversies – whilst as good as Montgomery is, he’s too young yet.

However, with power comes great responsibility, and Postecoglou has decided to put him on penalties for the foreseeable. He scored against Real Betis and has now scored another penalty against St Johnstone which took place at the weekend.

And speaking at yesterday’s Mainstream Media conference ahead of the trip to Easter Road this evening  the new summing signing was buoyant about his chances of staying on.

“I shoot like two penalty kicks and scored, before the match against Betis.

“Before Betis, (the) coach said to me we will shoot some penalties, for all the players.

“I scored three goals and they missed one, and because of that I’m on the penalties.

It seems quite a bold strategy given there there

I hope I can be top scorer!, he furthered.

I’m calm on the ball and my head doesn’t go crazy at big moments. I want to be relaxed, and when I take the ball I think about the sides, pick one and that’s it.”
