Jota dispels superb record against Aberdeen with classy message to Dons fans

Jota’s superb strike against Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon saw him endear himself to Celtic fans even further following his permanent move over the summer – with the Portugal star scoring from the edge of the box against a beleagured Dons side to move top of the table on Gameweek 1.

As equally as Celtic fans love the sight of their George Michael lookalike star, there is one team that must be sick of the sight of him – and that is Aberdeen themselves.

His strike from effort saw his 100 per cent goalscoring record against the Grampian outfit continue, scoring in all four games he has played against Jim Goodwin’s men.

But in a classy response, Jota refused to believe that the record was anything deeper than it is – stating that he would turn up to any game with the same mentality, not saving his best for the unfortunate side in red.

“I don’t think like that,” Jota said following the 2-0 win.

Some people say this is your perfect team, but it’s not like that; it’s just the way the games go. And I come to these games the same way I go to Rangers, the same way I go to Dundee or whatever.

It just happens that I scored, so as long as the team is happy and playing good football and the wins are getting better, that is what I’m for.

It was something from the moment, so I just got the opportunity to shoot and it went in, so I was very happy.”

Jota won many man of the match shouts for his performance, with our very own Sandman giving him an 8.5/10 for his rasping drive and continental flair.

But fans of the north-eastern outfit will have 17th December pencilled in on their calendars in the hope that he stays away from Pittodrie and ultimately refrains from causing havoc.
