JSP signing another example of Celtic’s recruitment incompetence…

Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, the on loan Manchester City Centre back in case you’ve forgotten the name is heading back to the Etihad after having his Celtic loan deal terminated due to a lack of playing time.

The England youth international and highly regarded City prospect was signed by (cough) Brendan Rodgers (yeah right, Michael) back in the summer, and made just two top team appearances in his short spell in Glasgow.

It’s clear as day to anyone with a functioning brain cell that the player was signed over the head of the manager, and was merely nothing more than using contacts at the Etihad in a desperate attempt to enhance the squad.

Just like Shin Yamada, Michel-Ange Balikwisha, and Sebastian Tounekti, JSP was a player brought to the club courtesy of those charlatans in charge aided by our just as incompetent director of football operations Paul Tisdale. Players who’ve all unsurprisingly failed to make a difference in an ailing side.

Brendan Rodgers clearly didn’t fancy the player, neither did Martin O’Neill, and even Wilfried Nancy with all the problems he faces in the defensive area didn’t see it fit to slot him into the side.

You’ve got to feel for the player who would have most likely been sold a scenario of regular first team football whilst chasing trophies and competing in Europe. But the brutal reality was that he wasn’t wanted by the people that matter.

The problem being that the picture was being painted by those who have no idea of how to run a football team. Those incompetent charlatans who steal a wage running our football club have stuck their nose in to team affairs once again, and it’s backfired once again. Who’d have thought?

This is just yet another example of their incompetent failing on the recruitment front. Will they ever learn? No, not likely.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Simpson Pusey looked good in the minutes he had.
Unfortunately did not get enough playing time to prove himself. Not the boys fault.

  2. Very poor article when so factually inaccurate.
Rodgers wanted 5CB in his squad building process, which he claimed himself.

Had that in place before Pusey even arrived, with Welsh.
Rodgers seemed to rate Murray better than Welsh, and nothing wrong with that.
Would have pushed Welsh down to a 5th option, with next to no game time available to himself at the time?
No real surprise that Welsh didn’t fancy that for himself this season, but was able to get a loan move for himself, in order to revitalise his career which was going nowhere with ourselves?

As everything has changed since then, will possibly have to wait until the summer, to see what the future might hold for Welsh.

Thought Murray was going to make a stronger claim for a starting position, especially with a back 3 currently in operation?
Both Murray and Pusey haven’t been able to make a claim for the position available, which I found a bit surprising, especially as ralston has hardly looked comfortable in the role to date imo?
