Juranovic worth “high teens towards the £20m” reckons Guidi

Due to his outstanding performances in this year’s World Cup in Qatar, Josip Juranovic has attracted the eyes of many clubs. After neglecting to sign an improved contract from Celtic, Juranovic’s World Cup could have been make-or-break for career, as a poor performance could effect his chances of either a big move or a better contract extension with Celtic.

In any case, Juranovic put in several fantastic performances for Croatia, most notably in their win over Brazil. The right-back has attracted a lot of attention toward himself, with rumours flying around over possible interest from some big clubs. Not only the size of the club could attract Josip, but also the money he will also be bring in due to his outstanding performances for Croatia, and his consistency for the Bhoys as well.

The Journalist, Mark Guidi, believes that the sum total Juranovic may be bringing in will be in the £20 million region, noting that that’s a lot of money. Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, Guidi said…

“I don’t think it’ll be far away from that. I know it’s the most obvious thing to say, it just depends on what a club is willing to pay and how desperate they are for a right back and how much Celtic can squeeze up out of them.”

“Do I see him being in the high teens towards the £20m? Yeah, I do.

“Do I see him going for £23m-£24m? No, I don’t.

“I think it’ll be a £16m to £18m region. He’s a Champions League player. And he’s now a World Cup semi-finalist.”

“So for big clubs down south, he’s been like with Torino and Atletico Madrid, it’s a hell of a lot of money, but they will see that is good value for them.”

It’s fantastic to see Juranovic attract so much hype over the past few weeks. He watched from the sidelines on Saturday as Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1 to secure third place in the World Cup and today The Celtic defender was linked with a move to Barcelona with at least two Premier League clubs interested in signing him.

  1. Why is he worth 3-4 million less than Bassey? Why is he worth about the same as Patterson? This guy has been named as a sensation for his performances up to the semi-final of the WC. Where was Bassey in the WC? What tournaments has Patterson been praised in? The Glasgow Cup. Do these idiots ever think before writing. Celtic should start the bidding at 25 million and hopefully get about 30 million. Harry McGuire 85 million? John Stones 50 million about 5 years ago. If Celtic don’t get a minimum of 28-30 million it defies logic. If no bids exceed 25m then he should be instructed that he needs a new agent and will remain at least to the summer. He is in his peak years and a player in the third best team in the World, for goodness sake.

  2. Agree 100% John . I believe it’s Scottish Hunstain Media just at it .. if they publish the truth , as you and I and everyone knows , starts at £30 m… the Huns would be in meltdown at their doors , delving through theirs and their families social media history to find something on them .

  3. Aaron Wan Basaka, not an international and had never played in Europe when sold for mega bucks . £70m plus Crystal Palace to Manchester United. If Wan Basaka is worth that logic dictates JJ is worth more.
