“Keeps getting better”: Celtic fans will love this as former favourite heaps praise on Celtic stalwart

It’s sometimes hard to tell what to make of some players, especially when they get such mixed reviews from players and pundits.

In truth a lot of the criticism that comes Scott Brown’s way can be attributed to jealousy, even honest fans of the Rangers will admit that they would love someone like him in their side.

Broony may be one of the highest profile players in Scotland, and we also see the occasional loud mouth from down south take a pop, with Joey Barton being the best example of showing how that worked out.

It’s clear that he’s admired and loved by his teammates, and former Celtic favourite Mikael Lustig taking some time out to shower him with praise.

The Celtic Star reported on some of the comments from the Swede, and the admiration for Brown is clear:

“Scott’s a machine and he just keeps getting better. The thing with Broony is, if you see him in training every day, he’s always up there in every test, and he’s so fit.

“And he pushing 35 this year, but hopefully he can be there for another one or two years and be able to lift that 10-in-a-row!”

It will be interesting to see how much longer he can play at this level, as his legs will start to go at some point soon, but his presence in the centre of the park is so strong and he’ll be missed when he does have to retire.

Hopefully the club will keep him on in a coaching capacity when that happens, but it’s important to appreciate him while he’s still playing at a high level.
