Last Night’s Victory For Aberdeen Puts Them Level With Celtic

Aberdeen beat Hibs 2-0 last night. It’s a result that wouldn’t ordinarily interest Celtic supporters, but it carries a little more significance at the moment because it puts the Dons level with Celtic on 26 points. Celtic have a game in hand over Aberdeen, but the proximity of a club normally well below the champions and Glasgow’s newest club, is a little alarming for this time of year.

We are now into November and Celtic cannot afford to go into the international break level with third place, let alone more than nine points adrift of theRangers.

The Hoops travel to Fir Park to face Motherwell tomorrow lunch time. The Steelmen sit in mid table on 14 points from 11 games. It’s a game that Celtic must win and Neil Lennon will know all about the pressure on him and his team. Quite simply, the result could be massive, psychologically, going into the international break.
