Under no circumstances can we even contemplate cashing in on Auston Trusty or Arne Engels in the final hours of another underwhelming transfer window under Michael Nicholson’s watch…

The focus of late has been on the transfer incoming front, with non stop speculation of who or who isn’t arriving, but the past few days has seen two of our first team mainstays linked with the exit door.
First up it was Arne Engels who was linked with a return to the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, and now these past 24 hours have seen EPL side Nottingham Forest being credited with an interest in the Belgian international who scored our third goal from the spot against Utrecht on Thursday night.

The other player linked with a move is scorer of the fourth goal on Thursday night Auston Trusty, who is said to be on the radar of Serie A sides Lazio and Fiorentina.
The American international has become somewhat of a mainstay in the centre of defence since the departure of Brendan Rodgers, and has put in some stellar displays, especially in the Europa League.

Both players are not short of their critics amongst the supporters, and with some valid reasoning, but the truth of the matter is that they contribute to the side more often than not, and you’d certainly miss them if they weren’t there, that you can guarantee.
We need the strongest squad available for this title run in, and Arne and Auston are two players who are vital cogs in our system. We can’t just decide to cash in on them, no matter the money on offer. It’s not as if Celtic need the cash after their hoarding ways filled the coffers to bursting over recent years with the Celtic support being their gullible cash cows.

Under Nicholson, we are once again struggling badly to get new additions in as it is, so we have literally no chance of replacing two important members of the side at such short notice.
Both players are vital to our cause, and just as importantly they have experience of winning the title, something that will stand us in good stead in the coming months. Under no circumstances can we even contemplate in letting them go.
