Legia Warsaw coach confirms Josip Juranovic’s Celtic Transfer

Legia Warsaw’s head coach has confirmed that Croatian right back has agreed to join Celtic, with a medical being arranged in Glasgow on Friday.

“Update: Legia Warsaw head coach confirmed Josip Juranovic will join Celtic. Deal is done, medical has been scheduled for Friday,” reports Ižak Ante Sučić.

The Croatian sports journalist has been accurate on this story from the beginning and here’s his latest report via Google Translate…

Josip Juranović will soon become the new player of the Scottish great Celtic.

Last summer, the Croatian national team player left Hajduk for Warsaw in a transfer worth 400 thousand euros, and after only a year he will change his environment again. Celtic was not the only club interested in Juranovic, but their offer was ultimately the fastest and most concrete.

The first offer of the Scots was rejected, followed by a new one to which the leaders of Legia could not remain silent. Although no confirmation has been served yet, Legija should receive three million euros, with the amount of the transfer being able to increase further if certain items from the contract are met.

For Juranović, Celtic will be the fourth club in his career. He recorded the first minutes in senior football in the Dubrava jersey, and then his qualities were recognized by the leaders of Hajduk, who brought him to Poljud in January 2015. Although he arrived in Split as an offensive midfielder, Juranović was transferred to the position of right back by chance, which ultimately proved to be a complete success.

With his good games in the Hajduk jersey, Juranović reached the Croatian national team, and at Euro 2020 he played two games.

Juranović should immediately need the first team player of the Scottish great, and his competition will be Anthony Ralston, who collected a total of 27 appearances, four goals and two assists for Celtic.

The final confirmation of the transfer is expected in the next 48 hours, Juranović’s representatives are negotiating the last details of the contract.

Borna Barišić and Nikola Katić in Rangers, and soon Josip Juranović in Celtic – the next Glasgow Derby will be under the magnifying glass of Zlatko Dalić.
