Leigh Griffiths has spoken out after sealing a move to Dundee on deadline day. The 31-year-old earned a new deal under Ange Postecoglou but, within days, he was making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Now, speaking to The Sun, Griffiths said that he doesn’t hold any grudges against those that booed him against West Ham in July. However, he did say that it hurt.
“For me, it’s about coming here. The Celtic fans have been brilliant with me since day one. They are some of the best fans I have ever played under.
“Yes, it hurts, but people are allowed to voice their opinion.
“Listen, it is done with now. I don’t have a bad word to say about the fans, the club or the people who work there.”
The player, who scored 123 goals for the club, will know that it is extremely unlikely that he will return to Celtic but he can at least play football at Dundee. He has been offered a number of chances in recent times but fitness issues have left him struggling for game time. The sideshow regarding his Instagram amplified concerns about whether Griffiths would take Celtic battle for the league seriously but Ange backed him.
Ange decided to give him yet another shot (in a short space of time) at making a claim to remain at the club but the fiasco online then another injury had many marking Griffiths’ time as being up. The loan to Dundee gives the striker the chance to prove that he is still capable of playing at a decent level.
We are unlikely to see Griffiths play for Celtic again but his scoring record is mightily impressive, even if his level of performance has been poor over the last few years.
Griffiths absolutely deserved the book’s from the Celtic support that has paid him handsomely for years even when he couldn’t play for reasons that are entirely his fault. Too fat, too much partying, too busy chasing anything in a skirt. He’s an embarrassment. He wasn’t good enough or professional enough to play for Rodgers, he wasn’t fit enough to play for Lennon which was his fault and no-one else. He’s not wanted by Ange. Who’s irrelevant Leigh? or whatever your name is. You’d best just slip away and go play with a team that you might get a chance to play for, and keep your mouth shut before any more pish comes dribbling out. As the pundit interviewing Rodgers after Dembele’s 1st game for Celtic said and I quote “Leigh who?” Rodgers stood up for you then, the club stood by you when you were burnt out from too much “partying” and gambling away the money that honest hard-working Celtic fans put in your pocket. Celtic even gave you another £1 million contract for another year but you blew it again. You’re a disgrace and an embarrassment and you’ll never be the “legend” you obviously think you are. You don’t even come close. So glad Celtic have managed to offload you because when it comes to picking players that deserve to wear the jersey YOU ARE IRRELEVANT. Look forward to humping your new team this season. Don’t come back.

I was all for supporting him but enough is enough, and when he comes out in the media calling Neil Lennon irrelevant it just shows that he isn’t man enough to take responsibility for his own actions.
