Lennon Gives Positive Injury Update

Neil Lennon has issued an injury update on Ryan Christie, Moi Elyounoussi and Jonny Hayes.

It was with some surprise that the team-lines today omitted the trio, however, the Celtic manager has provided the supporters with an explanation as to where they were today and whether they’d be fit for Wednesday’s trip to Tynecastle.

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound, the manager was asked if the trio of Hayes, Elyounoussi and Christie would make the trip to Edinburgh during the week.

“We’re hoping Ryan will be and Jonny but he’s still feeling it sore on his shoulder. Moi won’t be available, it is the same stress reaction in the foot, he needs complete rest.”

Celtic won 2-0 this afternoon against Hibs with goals from Jeremie Frimpong and Odsonne Edouard sealing the win. This week, Lennon’s team will visit the other Edinburgh side in an attempt to go five points clear at the top of the table.

Hopefully Christie and Hayes will be in contention as the Champions look to increase the gap between first and second place.

Hearts go into the game in disarray, sitting 11th in the table despite hiring German Daniel Stendel to steady the ship.
