Lennon’s 59 v Rodger’s Invincibles – Stats

Neil Lennon has now been back at Celtic Park for 59 matches, the exact number of games that Brendan Rodgers took charge of during the incredible Invincible treble season. Though trophies are the be-all and end-all, Lennon has matched the three trophies he has secured thus far, with astonishing statistics.

Of the 59 matches Lennon has overseen in all competitions, Celtic have won 48 (81.4%), drawn 6 (10.2%) and lost 5 (8.5%). An incredible 144 goals have been scored in this time, with just 39 conceded – giving a goal difference of 105.

In terms of the 59 matches that Rodgers’ Invincibles played across all competitions, Celtic won 46 (77.9%), drew 8 (13.6%) and lost 5 (8.5%). An Astounding 150 goals were netted in this time, with 46 conceded – amassing a goal difference of 104.

Of course, Rodgers’ team qualified for the UEFA Champions League and were competing against the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in the group stages. However, the stats make for impressive reading and suggest something special could be in store, particularly when one considers that this season’s Europa League group consisted of Serie A high flyers Lazio, French Cup winners Rennes and the club which eliminated the Hoops from the Champions League qualifiers – Cluj.
