Bayer Leverkusen’s Exequiel Palacios will likely miss the trip to Glasgow to face Celtic in the Europa League at the end of the month. The Argentine midfielder was forced off in the win over Ferencvaros on Matchday One and it has been revealed that he had suffered ligament damage to his ankle.
The Germans travel to Scotland for a European night at Celtic Park on September 30th. Although, it is likely that they will be without Palacious. Gerardo Seoane admitted that things were not looking good for the ex-River Plate midfielder.
“It’s an unfortunate situation because Exequiel has been a big part of the way we play and he will be missing for some time.”
Gute Besserung, @exepalacios_!

The midfielder, that was signed for £18.8m, scored an excellent goal to restore parity in Budapest before being forced off injured.
What a move and finish from Bayer Leverkusen! ✨

The game will see a return to Celtic Park for Jeremie Frimpong, who left the club in January for around £11.5m. Celtic were beaten 4-3 by Real Betis on Matchday One, despite having a 2-0 lead against the La Liga side. Ange Postecoglou will know that the home games are important for the chances of progression towards European football after Christmas.
