Loan watch: Olivier Ntcham’s loan struggles continue

Olivier Ntcham was once again subbed off at half time for Marseille as the Frenchman’s woes in Ligue 1 continued. Marseille lost 3-0 to OGC Nice in the Cote D’Azur as they lost to their South of France rivals.

The 25-year-old’s arrival sparked ex-Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas offering to resign immediately. The Portuguese boss subsequently left but Ntcham has struggled since swapping Glasgow for Marseille.

Ntcham has been subbed off three times in as many games as Marseille look set to miss out on Champions League places. Ntcham has struggled to break into the first team and establish himself with the Velodrome side; however, it looks increasingly unlikely that they will exercise the option to buy in the summer. This means that Ntcham will likely be back at Celtic next season so that the new manager (whoever that is) can try and tap into the potential that is clearly there and progress a player that appears to have stagnated.
