Lothar Matthäus has said that he is very confident that Bayern Munich can get the job done against Celtic…

The club legend spoke ahead of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie and confirmed that he feels that his old team have a great chance of progression against the Scottish Champions, with the Germans in town for the first-leg this week.
Matthäus predicts a comfortable Bayern victory over Celtic
The former Germany international has put his best foot forward and committed to predicting a comfortable Bayern victory over the two legs. Vincent Kompany’s men have shown they can be beaten though in the competition away from home, with Dutch side Feyenoord taking a 3-0 scalp in the group phase of the competition a few weeks ago.

However, Matthaus reckons that whilst Celtic’s home form is really good, their poor away form historically gives the Munich side a very good chance to qualify to the Last-16. “I don’t see any danger for Bayern at all in the games with Celtic,” he said via Glasgow Times. “Their chances of reaching the Round of 16 are very good. Celtic have a home and an away face. The Scots won 3-1 at home against RB Leipzig, but remember, they lost 7-1 at Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern conceded three goals in Rotterdam against Feyenoord
“I know Bayern may have conceded three goals in Rotterdam against Feyenoord and also against Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga. But they kept a clean sheet in their last game against Werder Bremen and looked better. Everything is going well for them at the moment. They are showing the quality they have…in contrast to Dortmund.”
It will be undeniably difficult to try and knock a team such as Bayern out of the tournament, given the vast resources they have at their disposal, when it’s put in comparison to Celtic. Despite this though, we must ensure we give a good account of ourselves and try and win the first-leg at Celtic Park to keep the tie alive and kicking when we head to the Allianz Arena next week.

German guy I taught had his car blocked in outside a Munich restaurant. He enquired in the restaurant and a few minutes later, out came an irate Lothar Mattheus with a ” do you know who I am ” attitude despite clearly being in the wrong. Arrogant, horrible piece of work by all accounts.
