Luke Thomas and Leif Davis show that English Championship is worth a look

English Championship well worth a look for the left back position…

Nicolas Kuhn’s arrival at the club is eminent, and with talk of a striker being lined up that just leaves us with the problematic left back position to rectify. There was talk of a bid for Portuguese left back Tiago Araujo, but that looks unlikely at this moment in time.

Hopefully Brendan and the scouting department are still actively searching as it’s an area that badly needs strengthened. A couple of names stick out in Luke Thomas and Leif Davis. Luke Thomas is a name that will be familiar to Brendan Rodgers. Brendan managed the left back during his time at Leicester, City and he is highly regarded..

Despite not having the best of times during a recent loan spell at Sheffield United, the England under 21 international is still a decent player with plenty of EPL experience behind him. He’s also out of contract in the summer so financially it shouldn’t be an issue if Brendan could tempt him up north.

Leif Davis is another highly rated player who is in fine form with a decent Ipswich town side this season. The 6ft attacking left back has 10 assists to his name already in 24 championship games this season. That’s impressive stats.

Both are attack minded players who can also defend, and would fit into Brendan’s side with ease. So the English Championship is a market we could be exploring, and these two players are well worth a look.
