Manchester City swoop to sign promising Celtic youngster

MANCHESTER CITY have completed the signing of Celtic Academy prospect Josh Adam. The 16-year-old was stalling on his decision to sign a pro contract with Celtic meaning that City were able to swoop in and take him to Manchester for a minimal cross-border compensation fee.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that a deal has been done to take Adam from Celtic to the North West of England. Midfield prospect Adam was linked with a move to Manchester City back in April but now City have got their man. The departure of Adam is another blow to Celtic following Liam Morrison’s move to Germany as it would mean another talented youngster lost.

Celtic have benefited from their relationship with Manchester City in recent years with a steady flow of players joining the Scottish Champions from their English counterparts but it seems that this is because Premier League side rate the coaching at Celtic highly. This would be exemplified by their latest move for Adam.

Celtic benefited from raiding City earlier this season with Jeremie Frimpong arriving at Celtic Park. He has been a revelation since breaking into the first team and proves that youngsters can break through at Celtic Park.

The likelihood of youngsters going into a football factory like Manchester City and becoming a first team player is massively unlikely.
