Kieran Tierney spoke to Celtic TV ahead of this evening’s 5.45pm kick-off in Rotterdam as Celtic take on hosts Feyenoord in the fifth round of matches in the Europa League campaign…

Tierney will be part of the Celtic team looking to collect three points on the road in the Europa League match against a Feyenoord side that has also underperformed in the competition and sit one point worse off than Celtic at the moment – we have four points and the Dutch side has three. Could be worse, we could be rock bottom on zero points, like theRangers!
KT gave his thoughts on the match and how Celtic are going to approach it against a side that he has great respect for but ultimately the target is to get at least a draw this evening and hopefully a win with the three points likely to shoot Celtic up the standings as the Europa League nears the business end.

“We’re looking forward to it. We know that this season so far we’ve not been our best in the Europa League. We want to go and prove a point, put on a good performance and see what we can do and hopefully get the three points as well,” KT said.
“It would be great because we know that they’re a tough team, we’ve watched their clips against Aston Villa and other good teams, and how they pass the ball, how they press but we need to believe in ourselves, trust ourselves and the game plan and stick to it.”
Asked about working with Martin O’Neill, KT can’t believe he’s had such an unlikely opportunity to work with such a legendary figure ho
“It’s nuts. Your earliest memories are of Martin O’Neill, what he did for the club, and how he turned it around. For example, what he said outside Celtic Park when he first showed up – these are videos you watch growing up.
“My cousin texted me saying, ‘It’s mental, I’m coming to a Celtic game that you’re playing in, and Martin O’Neill is the gaffer!’ For all of my family, for all of these years, it has been great.”
“He’s been brilliant. He has got the personality about him when you know that he’s in the room.
“He only has to say a couple of words, but he can make you feel on top of the world. He can make you feel like a great player with a couple of words at the end of training or during a session.
“To have someone like that has been brilliant for all of us.”
