He might have become the scapegoat towards the end of last season, but Celtic have really missed James Forrest this year.
He’s been reduced to only seven league appearances so far this campaign and he might have been forgotten by many, but his pace and knack for a goal will be a welcome addition to this current side.
He is returning from a long term knock so an element of patience will be required when it comes to getting him back up to speed, but a report from Football Insider has indicated that he’s due to return to training next week.
It was an ankle injury that he’s coming back from so you have to hope that it won’t affect his pace, while it could also take some time to build up his confidence so it won’t be a surprise if he’s a bit timid initially on his return.
The right back position has been decimated by selling Frimpong and Abd Elhamed so having an experienced option further up that flank should also be welcome, so hopefully it’s not long before he can take to the field again.
The main aim has to be building him back up so he’s at his best in the Scottish Cup and going into the summer, but his return could also spark some life into the attack too.
