McGregor roots for on-fire Rogic

He has his moments, he doesn’t have his moments – a very inconsistent player lies within the DNA of Tom Rogic. But despite his sometimes poor performances, the good always outweigh the bad.

And that has been especially more so this season with the Hoops utilising a more attack approach compared to the dull tones set out by Neil Lennon.

With McGregor usually sat in the hole whilst Rogic and David Turnbull pull the strings in the attacking contingent of the midfield, the two have formed a deadly partnership – something McGregor has picked up on

“Tom’s a top player and he’s on fire right now for us,” McGregor said to the Glasgow Times.

“The way he handles the ball, he’s definitely something special in terms of breaking the lines with his passes and receiving the ball.

“Long may his form continue. As long as we have a fit Tom Rogic playing that way we’ve always got a chance of winning games.”

Games like yesterday are where moments in midfield – such as Turnbull’s howitzer – are usually decisive against more defensive outfits. Rogic and Turnbull may not be the most athletic of central midfielders, but the pair are arguably the most creative in the league even on an off-day.

Turnbull scored against his former side on Saturday to send the Hoops within four points of theRangers given their last-gasp draw at home to Hearts.

And the pair will look to continue their exploits in Wednesday afternoon’s bizarre 3:30pm kick-off against Ferencvaros.
