McIntyre predicts arrival from Rangers “will be a big acquisition” for Celtic

Tommy McIntyre saw his side Celtic B side bow out of the SPFL Trust Trophy yesterday with a defeat against Greenock Morton in the Second Round. However, the Colts manager welcomed a new signing in his Starting XI, namely Ciaran Dickson from Rangers. Dickson crossed the rubicon after failing to agree a new deal with Steven Gerrard’s side and McIntyre believes that this will be a big acquisition for the Celtic B side.

“He’s got the personality to handle the move.

“I don’t want to go too much on Ciaran but there have been players in the past on either side who have done that.

“Ciaran made an impact but we need to be careful with him. He’s just come in and I thought he did well. He will get better and better.

“He’s a top player and will be a big acquisition for us. But he’s just come in and we need to give him a bit of time to settle.”

Ange Postecoglou brought 12 players in to strengthen his first team after a summer of rebuilding but Dickson arrived under the radar. It is likely that this would be due to the negative attention he may receive from supporters of his former employers. However, he started yesterday and thanks to a fumble by the Morton goalie, he netted.

Hopefully, Dickson will be able to kick on at Celtic and can work his way up the ranks at Lennoxtown with a view to being involved in Postecoglou’s first team.
