Medical booked – Celtic to seal £1m deal for Joe Hart, according to report

Celtic look set to sign Joe Hart on a three-year deal after a deal was agreed between Tottenham to bring the ex-England goalkeeper to Paradise. According to Daily Mail, the ex-Man City keeper will undergo his medical tomorrow as he looks to complete a £1m move to Celtic.

Hart was linked last season as a potential alternative to Vasilis Barkas after Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon left the club. With 75 caps for England and two Premier League titles for City, Hart certainly brings a certain calibre to the Celtic defence that is in need of experience and quality.

Hart joined Spurs on a free transfer and made ten appearances in the first of his two-year deal at Spurs. After Jose Mourinho left, Hart appeared to want to depart in the search of first-team football and this opportunity will allow him regular football whilst giving Ange Postecoglou an experienced pro to call upon.

The 34-year-old is likely to be the first of a few signings over the next few days as Postecoglou requires a number of players in key positions after exit from The Champions League as well as an opening day defeat to Hearts. Neither Vasilis Barkas nor Scott Bain have impressed between the nets and Postecoglou will know that Hart can certainly raise the standard in the squad.
