Midtjylland striker to miss Paradise visit with Covid-19

Midtjylland striker Aral Simsir looks set to miss the game at Celtic Park next Tuesday after testing positive for Coronavirus. The 19-year-old contracted the disease away from the club and as a result, no other players need to isolate ahead of the trip to Paradise.

The youngster was likely to be involved in some capacity next week but was unlikely to start the match. It is a must-win for Celtic with the prospect of Champions League football returning to Paradise. The club are hopeful of having 20,000 in the ground for the game as the Scottish Gov, Glasgow City Council and club remain in discussions.

Celtic will be hoping to sign a number of players ahead of the game as Ange Postecoglou looks to get a win on competitive debut as manager. The Australian has been keen to sign Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan with a medical said to be booked in shortly. Celtic have also been linked with Brandon Soppy and Sacha Boey but it remains unclear which is Celtic’s preferred candidate.
