Mikey Johnston has now officially left Celtic and has as expected signed a permanent contract with English Championship side West Brom…
The 25 year-old Republic of Ireland winger had a successful loan spell at The Hawthorns in the second half of last season and became a firm favourite with the West Brom fans after scoring seven goals in 20 matches for the Championship side.
Game-time at Celtic, where Mikey came through the Academy system, was always going to be limited and now in his mid-twenties, it seems like the perfect move for the winger. Mikey had three Championship sides interested in him but opted for a return to the West Midlands rather than heading to Burnley or Sheffield Utd.
Celtic will reportedly receive a transfer fee of £3m for the player, although West Brom are reporting this as an undisclosed fee. The very best of luck to Mikey.
