Mikey Johnston has just scored a brilliant goal for West Bromwich Albion away at Plymouth Argyle to put the Championship challenges 2-0 up at Home Park. It’s the kind of goal that Celtic supporters all know that Mikey is capable of scoring but seemed to be incapable of achieving after showing all that promise and ability earlier in his Celtic career before injuries and then anxiety to hold.
After a loan spell in Portugal last season, Mikey returned to Celtic in the summer but was once again hampered by yet another injury, this time to his back. He recovered and as the injuries elsewhere in the squad opened the door, Mikey was given plenty of opportunity to make an impact in the busy run of fixtures in December.
That didn’t work out, and a loan spell at WBA, aiming for the play-offs, snapped up the Republic of Ireland international winger. And they must be delighted with everything he’s done so far with yet another goal and this time a belter. have a watch…

Sums Mikey up though.
Once he got the ball he had zero interest in any team mates. It was all about Mikey from the second he got that ball.
Sure, it worked out well this time. But how many times does it not?
Glad for him, think that is two goals in three games ?. If he can stay fit he could do well, he is better than any of the dross we are playing wide at the moment. The same people I know who slag him off believe Yang has something to offer ? based on what, so far he has been useless, does not score or assist. Include The Kuhn guy, who in my opinion has just started working his ticket back out getting a massive pay out on the way, that is 5 million wasted on those two. Have been saying for weeks I would be playing Vata in front of those guys, he could not play any worse. Our recruitment is not just looking worse than bad, it is looking criminal in the duds we have signed.
The big question here is why he couldn’t play like that for us, as you point out we let him go and kept Yang and co yet Mikey goes into a stronger league and scores goals like that.

All he had tae do was the same thing when he was here .. but, usually skyed them waaayyyy over the bar. All oor current wide players are pish .. & he was tae.
