Miovski won’t come cheaply, but he’ll prove to be well worth the money

Miovski won’t come cheaply, but he’ll be well worth the money…

Celtic have been linked with a January move for Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski, a player that The Celtic Star has been saying for months that we should be looking at bringing to the club.

Whether there is any truth in the matter is another thing, but apparently he’s been watched on several occasions by Brendan Rodgers this season, with theRangers also showing an interest but have a slight problem apparently in not having the money that Aberdeen are looking for.

If there is some substance to it, it’s news we should welcome. The North Macedonian has hit 11 goals this term and is a big and mobile striker and one who would give us a different dimension up front. He won’t come cheap through as he’s still under contract until 2026 and the Dons are well within their rights to be holding out for a big fee.

The record transfer fee between two Scottish clubs is the £4.4 million Celtic splashed to sign Scott Brown from Hibs in 2007. Celtic would have to break that to bring Miovski to Glasgow, but it’s one that would be well worth it. I reckon a fee of around £4.7 million would be enough to convince Aberdeen to sell their star striker.

Celtic are in dire need of another striker, especially with Kyogo and Oh most likely heading to the Asian cup in January, so a move for Miovski would make perfect sense. Not only is he a decent player but he knows the league, hopefully it’s a move that comes to fruition. Time will tell.
