Monday morning Unique Angle time from Celtic TV at Rugby Park

Monday morning Unique Angle time from Celtic TV, capturing the four early Celtic goals down at Rugby Park as the Hoops wrapped up the points inside half an hour then decided, much to the relief of Derek McInnes, to take the foot off the gas and stroll through the next hour presumably to prevent any injury mishaps happening.

The players will have been aware the risk of that happening and also the fixture list that we have coming up with that Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden against theRangers a match that none of the Bhoys would want to miss.

Listen to those boos from the Kilmarnock supporters at the game. Yesterday Callum McGregor and Kyogo (missed penalty) did Derek McInnes a big favours with the captain’s first error in a long time to stemming the flow and the Celtic players foot coming off the pedal probably saved the Kilmarnock boss his job on the day when St Johnstone sacked Callum Davidson, despite him being the most successful manager in their history – an absolutely crazy decision that one.

Crazy decisions though are nothing new in Scottish football. Yesterday thousands of Celtic fans were forced to watch the game on Sky Sports rather than travel down to Kilmarnock to give the Rugby Park side over £30 each. Instead they preferred to have empty seats, total madness.

The most annoying thing about that defeat to St Mirren Celtic suffered last September is that it allowed the Paisley fans to say, look, it worked, we reduced their capacity and got a 2-0 win.

However that was a freakish result and clearly a one-off. Places like Rugby Park used to be a testing venue for Celtic but not this season. Surely they would have been better filling their stands and taking our money and improving their squad?

Their choice though.

Enjoy the Unique Angle…
