Morton sell over 2000 tickets for Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park

Our Scottish Cup campaign gets underway on Saturday lunchtime when Celtic welcome Greenock Morton to Paradise for the 4th Round Tie. And the Morton supporters are clearly excited about seeing their team play the finest team in Scotland with over 2000 tickets now sold for the away end. That’s probably more than any Scottish team has brought to Celtic Park in quite some time.

Morton have confirmed that there still remains a limited availability so with a late rush expected then this should mean that the away section is sold-out.

24.09.2013 Glasgow, Scotland. Dougie Imrie celebrates his goal during the League Cup third round game between Celtic and Morton from Celtic Park.

The Celtic Supporters in the Home Cup Ticket Scheme will already have had the payments taken from their accounts for this game, but many may opt not to bother attending for a match that is live on television and has an early 12.15pm kick-off time on Saturday.

That’s always a worry that this results in a low-key, low atmosphere occasion that will suit Morton much more than Celtic as their fans will be roaring them on in what will be one of their season highlights.

Hopefully as many supporters as possible make it along on Saturday to see Celtic take on Morton who could have former Celts Efe Ambrose and Calvin Miller in their line-up.
