Moussa Dembele, then Odsonne Edouard ahead of Shankland and Morelos

The Bears getting upset over Shankland being compared to Morelos. How do they think we felt when Alfie was compared to French Eddy and Moussa?

The Bears have been getting a bit hot under the collar due to recent events. Nothing more so than their Glasgow Derby defeat at the weekend, but something took their minds off that yesterday when Livingston boss David Martindale compared Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland to their former striker Alfredo Morelos.

Wee Davie reckons Shankland is as good as Morelos was when he was at theRangers, and the bears didn’t like it one bit. To be fair I think they’ve got a point as Shankland while a bit sluggish, doesn’t look overweight or uninterested during games. No, that’s not that’s bothering them of course as they reckon Alfie was much better all round player because he’s done it against the best in Europe!

A bit of stretch isn’t it? Yeah granted he had a decent European scoring record, but a big chunk of his goals were scored in the qualifying rounds against the smaller sides in Europe, and admittedly he did score in the Europa league group stages and knockout rounds, but he was hardly doing it against the best in Europe. The best in Europe are in the Champions League and Morelos certainly did nothing there!

Know who was doing it though against the best in Europe? Moussa Dembele, and yet the deluded Bears still compared Alfie to the Frenchman. Not only in Europe, but domestically, in Cup Finals and Glasgow Derby matches. Something the Colombian couldn’t do.

The same as Moussa’s fellow countryman Odsonne Edouard. French Eddy was doing it in Europe and domestically, scoring important derby goals and cup final winning goals. Something alien to poor wee Alfie.

Yet it didn’t stop the deluded Bears from comparing the players. There was no comparison full stop. Both Eddy and Moussa were and still are better than the Colombian. Maybe theRangers supporters now know how we feel after hearing David Martindale’s comparisons?

I highly doubt it, but it’s exactly how we felt listening to their deluded opinions.
