Joe McHugh over on Video Celts called out the lazy journalism click-bait on a long established Celtic site this morning.
Last Sunday they published a ‘story’ with the headline being ‘McGregor Mystery’ and it was based on the Record publishing a list of Celtic’s provisional squad for the game at Hampden which didn’t included Callum McGregor. There was of course no mystery, just some hack at the Record subtracting any injured players from the Celtic squad to make a story and the mystery was added via the click bait headline, which was actually just Lazy Journalism.
Video Celts points out: this morning “For the umpteenth time. Celtic don’t name a squad for matches, lazy publishers get someone to fill a space, often they forget a player. It isn’t a mystery or shock, absolutely anyone can play today at Ross County except Juranovic.”

Having not seen what Joe was referring to I asked him if it was another ‘McGregor Mystery’ headline? He replied “This week’s mystery is Tom Rogic, some no-mark at the Record forgot about him, I suspect he’ll be somewhere around Inverness for breakfast this morning.”

CALLUM McGREGOR MYSTERY
CELTIC captain Callum McGregor was at the centre of a mystery when he was omitted from Ange Postecoglou’s player pool for Hampden this afternoon.
The Hoops key man’s name was nowhere to be seen in the provisional squad which was revealed in a national newspaper.
Over 20 players were identified, but, puzzlingly, McGregor was not among them.
Clearly, it is an oversight – or the paper has an exclusive that will rock the Parkhead support before such a crucial confrontation that could go a long way to seeing Postecoglou lead the team to a phenomenal domestic clean sweep in his first season as manager at Parkhead.
For the record, with McGregor included, here is the provisional squad:

ROGIC MYSTERY
TOM ROGIC was at the centre of a mystery when he was omitted from Ange Postecoglou’s player pool for the crucial Premiership meeting with Ross County in Dingwall this afternoon.
The name of the Hoops’ Australian playmaker was nowhere to be seen in the provisional squad which was revealed in a national newspaper.
Twenty-four players were identified, but, puzzlingly, Rogic was not among them.
Clearly, it is an oversight – or the paper has an exclusive that will rock the Parkhead support before the vital encounter that hopefully will see Postecoglou’s side restore their six-point advantage at the top-flight summit before the visit of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox outfit to the east end of Glasgow a week today.
Yosuke Ideguchi, who is not reported to be injured and who has trained throughout the week, is also a strange omission, but the Japanese midfielder will almost certainly be involved in Postecoglou’s player pool.
