Neil Lennon Brands Odsonne Edouard ‘A Mercurial Talent’

Neil Lennon has today described Celtic hero, Odsonne Edouard, as “A mercurial talent.” Speaking in an exclusive Celtic TV interview ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Fir Park, the Celtic boss was quizzed as to whether or not the Frenchman ranks as the best striker at the club since Henrik Larsson. Though Lennon wouldn’t respond, he did wax lyrical about his star front-man, whose brace at the weekend took his tally to 22 for the season.

“If you look at both his goals at the weekend he makes them look easy and they’re very difficult,” Lennon said. The Manager then hailed the fledgling partnership between Edouard and Griffiths: “It helps him (Edouard) having a body around him in Griff, at Kilmarnock they linked brilliantly…”

“His goal yesterday, he showed great link up with Tom Rogic, but the free kick for me was special because he’s so close in and to get it up, over the wall and into the corner was amazing. His all round game is improving, he’s playing with a lot of confidence.”
