Neil Lennon reveals his plans for Celtic’s next five games

We are entering the busiest part of the Scottish Premiership season as Celtic will be playing five league games over the next 15 days. It is also not going to be an easy run of fixtures as they have Hibernian at home, Hearts away, Aberdeen at home, St Mirren away and then finally the Rangers at home. Neil Lennon’s plans for this busy run of games though are pretty clear.

Celtic are no strangers to a busy schedule. It is hard to remember a week this season except for the international breaks when they did not play two games in a week. Thus, it should not be too big of a deal for Neil Lennon’s men. As a result, while most managers would have been happy to come out with more wins than losses, the Celtic boss is hoping to win all five games in order to end the year on a high note.

Speaking with the Scottish Sun about the upcoming fixtures, Lennon said:

“Extending our lead over the coming games is the incentive. We want to win them all. It’s no easy task and we’ll try to take them one at a time.

“It’s a big week. Hibs, Hearts away, Aberdeen at home — they are three really important games. Hibs are up first and they had a great win at the weekend so they’ll come in buoyant but we’re buoyant as well. We must maintain our energy and focus.

“We are back to five big games we want to win and maintain our consistency at domestic level, which has been obviously very good. I hope we can maintain that because we are getting pushed.”

While Celtic have been in terrific form again as expected, any team can have an off-day. Thus, they will have to be very careful that they are on their A-game every time they step on to the pitch. The Premiership title race is tighter than ever this season with the Rangers making a resurgence under Steven Gerrard. As a result, the Hoops cannot afford to make any slip ups until there is daylight between the two teams in the points table.
