Neil Lennon reveals when Mohamed Elyounoussi will return to training

Celtic have a winger crisis at the moment. Scott Sinclair was sold to Preston North End after spending the first half of the season in the reserves while Lewis Morgan is also set to move to Inter Miami. But now with Mikey Johnston set to spend significant time out injured, the Hoops need Mohamed Elyounoussi to return as soon as possible.

The Norwegian on-loan from Southampton started the season in fine form. In 13 appearances, he scored 7 goals and assisted 6 more, picking up the October Player of the Month in the process. And their were calls for the club to make his deal permanent at the first opportunity they got.

But injuries have derailed his season since then. After getting injured in a game against Hibernian in November the winger has featured just once, missing almost three months of action.

There is some good news though, as Neil Lennon confirmed in his recent media conference that the star is set to return to training very soon:

“Elyounoussi is going to come back into training on Saturday which is good use but again he’s been out for quite some considerable period of time so Sunday will be too soon for him.”

Elyounoussi’s return could not come soon enough for Celtic. With the number of injuries that the club has been hit with this season, it will represent a huge boost as they look to pile on the pressure on the Rangers in the Premiership title race.
