It’s been announced that a new rule, which will have a major impact on goalkeepers, will come into play starting from next season…

It’s been ruled that keepers will have to comply with new regulations that means they will only be allowed eight seconds in possession of the ball with their hands before they have to distribute it, or run the risk of the award of a corner to the attacking team as a consequence for falling foul of the rule.
Celtic supporters will welcome the news
That news will be of great interest to the Celtic supporters, due to the amount of time wasting antics we witness against us, especially at Celtic Park.
It’s a trait we’ve had to suffer on numerous occasions from visiting sides at Paradise, as they look to kill the game by deliberately setting out to time waste and frustrate Celtic as a result. But thanks to this new rule it will force teams to rethink their approach to the game, and it will make for a a more interesting spectacle.

As supporters we want to see a better product on the park, and this new rule will benefit teams looking to play attacking football, which will suit Celtic right down to the ground.
Schmeichel does everything as quickly as possible
Watching Kasper Schmeichel doing everything as quickly as possible to get play re-started is in sharp contrast to every opposition keeper in Scottish football, who use every trick in the book to waste time.
The fact that this is now going to be penalised can only be good for both the Beautiful Game and also for Celtic.

There’s already a six second rule in place which doesn’t get enforced. why should we believe this rule will be.
I thought it was 6 secons just now or you gt a free kick? Can’t see this making any difference.
Yes our refs don’t apply the laws you stick by the book no one means question you but refs make there own rules up no advantage then advantage is as if they want to help the lesser football side a chance rufa has to be stricter with individual leagues not just eufa compition you can’t have a team playing champion league rules during the week and spl rules weekends sfa let our officails stray from the rule book they have to punish poor refereeing
