Norwich City Expected To Launch Bid For Celtic Defender

This morning, The Celtic Star reported that Kris Ajer has expressed his desire to leave Celtic during the summer. Ajer spoke to the Norwegian media and signaled his intent to move on, whilst also stating “Something is going to happen this summer.” Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with the player, but reports in the Glasgow Times suggest that a bid from Norwich City is now imminent.

The Canaries won the EFL Championship in emphatic fashion and boss Daniel Farke is looking to bolster his squad ahead of a return to the Premier League. Ajer is reportedly among the players that Norwich would like to bring in to sure up the defence at Carrow Road and the English club’s Director of Football (Stuart Webber) was at Paradise to watch the Norwegian centre back during several SPFL matches last season.

With only one year remaining on his contract, it is unlikely that the Hoops will receive a substantial offer for Ajer, but if Norwich are first to test the water then a bidding war with other clubs may ensue.
