Not for Sale – Celtic Rubbish Monaco Link for Edouard

After his match winning performance from the bench yesterday, Odsonne Edouard’s name was dominating the back pages in Scotland. With two goals in five minutes, French Eddy proved once again that he is arguably the best player in the country.

However, back in France Edouard was in the news for another reason – reports in France claimed that AS Monaco had approached the Scottish Champions regarding a deal to sign the French U21 star.

The Ligue 1 strugglers, who developed Kylian Mbappe, are looking to bolster their attacking options and as much as a move to the Cote d’Azur sounds appealing – Celtic have moved to rubbish the claim.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic will not SELL Edouard this month and are in no rush to sell him any time soon. In recent seasons, the club have parted with their star players and now with a title challenge, Celtic cannot afford to lose their talisman.

Edouard has scored 20 goals this season already and his influence was exemplified yesterday as he came on and broke the resilient Ross County defence. Leigh Griffiths, Bayo and Patryck Klimala make up the rest of the Celtic strike force but the vast majority of the support can agree that we don’t have another option of the quality that Edouard brings.

Edouard was signed following an impressive loan season for a club record £9m from PSG and should he be sold in the future, it should comfortably eclipse the £25m paid by Arsenal for Kieran Tierney – though hopefully not for at least 18 months.
