Ntcham set for Celtic return as Marseille decide against purchase option

Olivier Ntcham looks set to leave Marseille at the end of the season, according to La Provence. The French outlet has claimed that the 25-year-old has failed to impress since his move to the Ligue 1 side with the club reportedly eyeing Toulouse’s Amine Adli.

Ntcham has been subbed off at half time in all of his four starts as Marseille look set to miss out on Champions League places. Ntcham has struggled to break into the first team and establish himself with the Velodrome side. This means that Ntcham will likely be back at Celtic next season so that the new manager (whoever that is) can try and tap into the potential that is clearly there and progress a player that appears to have stagnated.

Celtic may now need to try sell him on or let him prove that he can still produce for the Parkhead side. The £4.5m option to buy for Ntcham looks set to be ignored with the player underwhelming in the South of France. The French press were critical of Ntcham’s fitness and performance levels since joining from Celtic.
