Old Firm derby set for noon League Cup showdown at Ibrox

Rangers will host Celtic at Ibrox in the League Cup quarter-finals on Sunday 13 September, with a noon kick-off live on Premier Sports 1.

The Old Firm derby was the first tie drawn for the last eight after Rangers beat holders St Mirren 5-1 and Celtic won 4-0 away to Dundee United. The fixture will conclude the quarter-final weekend.

Celtic’s previous visit to Ibrox in the Scottish Cup ended in a goalless draw after 120 minutes before Celtic won the penalty shootout. The report on the kick-off time noted the scenes surrounding that match, when Celtic supporters had the entire Broomloan Stand and some entered the pitch after the victory, as context for the noon start.
